Regularly on sundays the whole family goes to Winnifred Beach. One reason is 'Cynthias' restaurant. There is no fridge and no stove. The fish and lobster is always fresh and for the cooking fire Cynthia and Painter only use pimento wood. They love to prepare vegetables and it is easily the best place to have lunch. As Blue Lagoon is a must to swim so is Winnifred Beach. The water is always warm and the bay is protected by a long reef and totally safe.On sundays you will meet a lot of local people. It is still a public beach, very few tourists know about it, as it is hidden off the road. You can appreciate why many Jamaicans don't swim, they take a bath, as the water is so comfortable that you don t have to move to stay warm. Kids can stay for hours in it splashing around and playing with balls. During the week very often you can find yourself alone at the beach. There is a small river at the east end flowing in the sea. Green grass reaches from the hillside all the way to the beach, where the tallest almond trees that I have ever seen so close to it give you shade. For me it is the most beautiful beach in Jamaica to swim, to meet people and to relax. It is still unspoiled and has not yet changed over time.
