Sometimes you think , that you will find the most beautiful places, if you search behind the horizon and you don't see the ones right in front of you. I owned this hill for over a year and did not know , that there was a river and a waterfall on my land. Looking at Port Antonio, it seems to be within reach and you feel that you are part of its vibrant everyday life. But it takes only threehundert steps down the back of the hill and you are in a different world. The tropical jungle, the bamboo forest and the sweet sound of the small river and the birds around you open up a different world. So close by and still so far away from civilization. Coming back up the threehundert steps, it can give you one of the best workouts and you will need to jump in the pool. You can take it easy though. Stop a few times, look around and find the right pace. The climate in Jamaica does not invite to walk fast. Walking up to 'Shutover' you can find the jamaican pace. If you overtake the people on the road who live up the hill you know you walk too fast. Sometimes its good to learn to slow down, to take your time and even feel comfortable doing nothing. Jamaica is the right place for that.
